Because of the high tourist traffic all year, Alibag has earned the moniker “mini-Goa.” Alibag, a quaint little town steeped in colonial history, is located about 96 kilometers from Mumbai and 150 kilometers from Pune, and is abundant with sandy beaches, clean unpolluted air, and plenty of forts and temples, ensuring that relatively a small town, you never run out of activities to do.
Alibag is well-known for its various beaches, which are only a few minutes’ drive apart, so you won’t have to worry about which beach to visit and which to skip. The much more renowned beach in Alibag is, of course, Alibag Beach, which offers a breathtaking view of not just the dawn and sunset, but also the Kolaba Fort, which is only a short boat trip away.. The Colaba fort was once the cornerstone of the Maratha Empire, and the majority of the structure is still in good condition.
Kihim Beach and Nagaon Beach are two other popular beaches in the area, with Kihim Beach being a photographer’s dream. Alibag is also abode to Mandwa Beach, which is well-known for the numerous film shoots that take place there. From its bay, the beach provides a stunning view of the Gateway of India, and you can sit on the sand and sip a cool drink under the orchard of coconut trees that line the beach.
