Mesmerising Nubra Valley

The frigid desert and gorgeous environment of Ladakh’s Nubra Valley are well-known. The Nubra (Siachin) River and the Shyok River separate it. The valley is connected to Leh by the Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes. The Nubra Valley is one of Ladakh’s most renowned tourist sites, with its Diskit Monastery and Hunder Village.

Hunder Village is known for its cold desert and opportunity to camp and rides Bactrian camels in Nubra Valley (double-humped camel). This Monastery is located in Sumur Village. Because it is the region’s main and most popular Monastery, it is a must-see. In this monastery, the tones of the triad colors Red, White, and Gold can be seen. Walking from Sumur Village to this place takes 50 minutes, or you can take a taxi. Bring some woolens with you because this is a frigid place. All of Leh’s major locations have buses and shared taxis that run frequently to Sumur. The area is adorned with red-yellow trees and brilliantly colored flags.

Diskit Gompa

This is the largest (105 feet) and oldest Buddhist attraction from the 13th century. Tourists can stand here and receive a 360-degree view of Nubra Valley. The ceremony was presided over by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The primary attractions here are the relics, and it’s amazing to go across the vast field and observe Buddha while soaking in the surroundings.
